Why Study at University of Nottingham

The University of Nottingham is one of Britain’s oldest and largest Universities, tracing its origins back to 1791 when it was opened as an adult education school. In 1881, it was established as a University College which was part of the University of London. From this point the University quickly grew and is today considered to be one of the UK’s top institutions of Higher Education. Nottingham also has an outstanding international reputation and is ranked in the top 1% of all universities worldwide. A member of the Russell Group and the Universitas 21 consortium, the University of Nottingham has been described as “the nearest Britain has to a truly global university” (The Times, 2012) and the “embodiment of the modern international university” (The Sunday Times University Guide, 2011)
